Tony Avard and John Galloway join MPW Insurance Brokers.

The founding directors of Palmar Avard and Galloway (PAG) Ltd have joined forces with MPW to create a formidable corporate insurance brokerage.

Tony Avard and John Galloway were the driving force behind Palmar Avard and Galloway, a superb Maidstone-based insurance broking business with an excellent reputation. In 2005 the PAG business was sold to Argyle Insurance which in turn was acquired by Jelf Group plc in 2008.

John Galloway explains, “Our success was based upon the personal and professional relations we had with our clients and business friends and the demands of a public limited company make it difficult to deliver that type of service. MPW is renowned for their service levels and I am delighted to be joining them.”

Tony Avard agrees that MPW are a perfect fit. He states “Insurance is a people business; and the client must come first. We have admired MPW for many years and our businesses have shared similar philosophies and values.”

MPW has recently acquired the commercial business of Whitstable-based David Lynes Commercial Limited and John Galloway will oversee this project.

MPW’s Chairman, Andy Webb is very excited about developments. He said: “As a specialist construction insurance broker we have found the economic climate to represent a significant challenge.”

“We felt we should diversify and have been positive and dynamic during these recessionary times. The purchase of the David Lynes Commercial business has helped us to strengthen our commercial client base in Kent and the south east and we are absolutely delighted that John and Tony are able to join us too. It is rare that such knowledgeable, respected and experienced colleagues are available and their personal and professional approach exactly mirrors our company ethos. I have no doubt that they will be a great asset to MPW.”

Despite the recession MPW has recruited several additional experienced members of staff over the past 12 months and have been awarded Chartered Status – and all in their 25th year of trading.
